There is an urgent need for volunteers to help make sure new procedures go as smoothly as possible, resulting from the many changes happening at our school this year. There are a few individual dates/times before school begins when assistance is needed, plus at drop-off and dismissal times during the first two weeks of school.
A list of potential volunteer duties was sent out to all members of our Merwin Online Community last week. If you did not receive the email, yet still would like more information about these volunteer opportunities, please contact Jenny Pera either by email or at 752-1212.
You must register at the district office and be fingerprinted for a background check before you can volunteer. There is no cost to you, and you can drop in between the hours of 8-11am and 1-4pm daily. Background checks over 5 years old have expired, so if you were initially fingerprinted in 2006 or before, you will need to do it again. Background checks are valid for all schools within the district, so you do not need to have an additional one done for Merwin if you've done it already for another West Clermont school. Collaboration between parents and staff is now more important than ever as we all are trying to do more with less. Merwin is looking forward to a fabulous year of learning and fun, and we thank you in advance for helping to get us off to a great start!
