This week is spirit week!
Before I start, I would like to thank the families who embraced the Rademacher family this week after the house fire and hospitalization of Kylie. When the chips are down and a Merwin family is in need, our families step up and pitch in. Thank you so much. Kylie is out of Shriner’s Hospital and will be out of school for the time being. The other children are back at school. Your prayers for this family are needed.
Specials for the week are: Monday/Red, Tuesday/Yellow, Wednesday/Green.
Monday is Clown face paint and hair day. Students may use color in their hair, wear a wig, or just fix a funny style and they may paint their faces like a clown! Have fun. Amelia High School Music Staff will come to discuss music options for next year with the 5th graders. After school is Mad Science classes.
Tuesday is Mix and Match your clothes like a clown or just go ahead and dress like a clown.
Wednesday is our big pep rally at 2:30. Students are asked to wear their favorite Merwin spirit wear or a blue shirt. Bob Herzog and John Gumm from Channel 12 News will join us for the pep rally with the AHS Cheerleaders and Marching Band. We are going to have a great time as we prepare to “Show what we know” for the OAA testing the following week.
Thursday and Friday there is no school as it is spring break. Have a great time and be ready to get serious upon return to school on Monday! Testing begins on Tuesday.
