Weekly Update, May 13

The Kindergarten schedule for this week is:  Group A comes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; Group B comes Tuesday and Thursday.

I have an important message from Food Service:  The last day to charge a lunch this year will be May 18.  After that, students who do not have money in their accounts will receive a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a juice.

Interim reports were carried home on Friday or they will go home on Monday.  Please ask students for them.

Tuesday we will have a short Kindergarten Orientation at 10:00 in the gym.  It is not mandatory, but may give you a little insight into next year.

Thursday night is Merwin PTO Night at Papa John’s Pizza. Thursday the Counselor from Amelia Middle School will visit Merwin to talk with the 5th graders.  Then on May 22, our 5th graders will make a visit to Amelia Middle School.

A big thank you goes out to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers for providing the rewards for students following testing.  They all had a great time.  Thanks to parents who helped.

Field Days are coming up on May 23rd and 24th.  We still need volunteers.  There is a skating party on May 21st. Our Girls on the Run ran their 5K race Saturday.  They are an inspiration to all of us.  Our DI team will represent us at the Global Tournament May 23rd to 25th.  Good luck to them.  We have finally finished DIBELS and OAA!  Thanks to everyone for their assistance with attendance.

Last of all, our end of the year awards assemblies have been scheduled.  This year we are allowing parents to take their children home with them following the assembly to save parents extra trips to school.  Students who leave with their parents will not be penalized on attendance.   Check the Mustang Messenger and the website for dates and times.
