3rd Quarter interim reports were carried home on Thursday. If you didn’t see your child’s report remember to ask. We do not hold interim reports for unpaid fees so everyone should have had a report. I also sent home the March newsletter on Thursday. If you are a member of our Merwin Online Community, you were not sent a newsletter in an effort to reduce printing and paper costs. Just login to Big Tent and you will see the important information for this month. If you need a copy, stop by the office or call and we will be glad to accommodate your needs. This newsletter has important information so make sure you read it.
Father Daughter Dance tickets will be on sale all week during lunch. Tickets are $10 per family. Please return the form that was sent home with students on Thursday with payment. The "sock hop" dance is Friday in the Merwin gym from 7-9 pm. There will be a photographer on site selling keepsake photos. Volunteers are still needed. Please contact Angie Tucker if you can help. Please remind all fathers attending the dance not to park in the fire lane.
Specials this week are: Monday/Yellow; Tuesday/Green; Wednesday/Blue; Thursday/Red; Friday/Yellow.
We previously scheduled the Merwin Night at Frisch’s Cherry Grove for Monday this week, but Mrs. Garrett had a scheduling conflict. So we have moved the event to this Tuesday, March 1. Mrs. Garrett will be pied at 6:00. I hope you can join us. You will be able to redeem your Frisch’s valentines that evening and I will have extras with me.
The current Study Island contest ends Monday night at midnight. We are looking for the class that answers the most questions in any categories with the highest percent of accuracy to win extra gym time.
The final day to order a yearbook is Tuesday, March 1st. They are $20.
Tuesday morning we will finish the mandatory bus evacuation drills that were scheduled Wednesday but were postponed due to the rain. Please be extra careful when exiting the parking lot.
The PTO has asked me to remind you to return the nomination forms for next year’s PTO Board to school. It is also time to sign up for the Flying Piglet race for this year. The sign-up night is Thursday, March 10 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the library.
Kindergarten registration for Merwin students will be the week of March 7 so make your appointment this week by calling 943-5000.
One last reminder: You must always call the attendance line when your child is absent from school even if you have emailed or contacted the teacher. When you call, please list your child’s first and last names, why he/she is not in school, and the name and number of the person making the call. The number of the attendance line is 947-7804.
