I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and returns ready to work on Monday. Kindergarten schedule for the week is Group A comes Monday and Wednesday and Group B comes Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
As the weather changes, we still have students coming to school without coats. If you need a coat for your child, call the office. I will start giving out the “Lost and Found” coats if they are not claimed by Friday.
This week staff members will change arrival and dismissal duties. Please be patient as we learn our new jobs.
This week we received word that our 3rd grade Reading OAA scores are in. We did quite well with 73% of our students passing on the attempt. I do not have individual scores yet. Remember that 3rd graders will have a second attempt to pass in the spring.
Looking ahead: The Santa Shop will open on December 12. All classes will have a day and time to visit. All items are $1 each. There will not be make-up days unless absent, so please send money and shopping list on the correct day.
Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will have an assembly by Duke Energy on December 8 .
All 5th graders will travel to the Amelia High School Performing Arts Center on December 20 for the Music Sampler. This is provided by high school and middle school students to showcase activities for which our students will have an option when scheduling for middle school. Our students usually schedule for middle school in late January or early February.
