Hello Merwin Parents,
I wanted to inform you concerning drop off this morning. There was a medical emergency with an adult dropping off a student which caused a minor auto accident on Gaskins. Although the driver was transported to the hospital to be checked out, no one was seriously injured and for that we are thankful.
What I did want to say was that the Merwin staff jumped into gear and moved down Gaskins Road at Red Fox and continued with our same procedures. Students were removed from cars and walked to school on the sidewalk. Thank you to parents and students who followed staff instructions. Even with the accident, everyone was in school by 9:15.
Our dismissal on Thursday was also excellent. We were finished at 3:35. As parents and students turn procedures into routines, we will continue to shave time off of our dismissal. Many of you have sent in cards and goodies for us acknowledging our work at arrival and dismissal. Thank you so much. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated. We know things aren't perfect, but we are content with safe!
