Weekly Update

This is a big week for WC families as we await the results of the election on Tuesday.  If you came to the rally Friday night, I hope you had a good time!  I sure did!  Thursday we sent home the May newsletter.  It contains some very important information about the end of the year.  In an effort to conserve paper, the PTO newsletter is printed on the reverse side.  Please keep it for reference.

Specials for this week are:  Monday/Red; Tuesday/Yellow; Wednesday/Green; Thursday/Blue; Friday/Red.

Monday begins the PTO Annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale.  Classes attending on Monday are Jacobs, Cann, Love, Kuebel, Gabelman.  

Tuesday the 4th graders will take the Math OAA and 5th graders will take Science OAA.  It is important to have a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast!  Tuesday classes attending the plant sale are:  Dodds AM, Miller, Rees, Sawyer, Dodds PM and Blatt.  Tuesday is also Election Day and students will eat lunch in their classrooms.  We will not admit visitors for lunch that day.  Remember to model good citizenship for your children by voting! Since it is election day, our students will be voting on the name of our new mascot on this day!

Wednesday classes attending the plant sale are:  Davis, Thompson AM, Greer, Orleck, Thompson PM, Bossart, Noble.

Thursday classes attending the plant sale are:  Brown, Shebesta, Webb, Lemaster, Hamilton, Dean.

Friday classes attending the plant sale are:  Bradburn, Chandler, Burnett.  Friday students will carry home 4th quarter interim reports. Make sure to ask for them.  Friday is our reward day for students in grades 3, 4 and 5.  The movie is "Toby Tyler," a Disney movie and students will receive free treats with tickets earned during testing.  We are still in need of donations of bags of miniature candy bars.  If you can contribute, please send them to the office one day this week.

Saturday is the Mother Daughter Tea at Receptions Eastgate from 10 to noon.

The Game Truck is coming to Merwin on May 10.  The students who earned the reward will be given an opportunity to visit the truck during the day.

The 5th grade Meet and Greet Skating Party sponsored by Elementary PTO will be held May 10 at 6:30.

Please spread the word that the Merwin Kindergarten Orientation is May 18 at 10:45.  We are still in need of the incoming Kindergarten students to register as soon as possible!
